Jean-Christophe A. Leveque, MD, is Head of Neurosurgery at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with extensive expertise in spinal surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, and pituitary tumors.
Dr. Leveque earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Amherst College and his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his Neurosurgery residency and Complex Spine Surgery fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center, where he developed a particular interest in advanced spinal surgery techniques and patient care.
An internationally recognized researcher, Dr. Leveque has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications and has received over 3,300 citations for his work. His research interests include adult spinal deformity, sagittal alignment, and the application of augmented reality technologies in spine surgery.
Dr. Leveque has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career, including President of the Washington State Association of Neurological Surgeons, Fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society, member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and Chair of the Spine COAP Management Committee. He has also been an active collaborator in the development of innovative spinal technologies and clinical research initiatives.
